A regression plan is a pre-defined procedure for reversing or rolling back a change that has produced unintended negative effects. Because the implemented change caused the building power output to fall outside the Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), initiating the regression plan addresses the active defect systematically by returning the system to its pre-change baseline and restoring compliance with defined performance requirements before any further action is taken.

Adding remediation to the schedule defers resolution of an active defect and bypasses the regression plan, which is the defined process for handling defects introduced by a change.

Accepting power output that falls outside defined KPPs violates the project performance requirements and cannot occur without a formal waiver or an approved change request modifying those parameters.
