Why each option

For a team assessing product features using a relative-weighting approach to prioritize benefits and customer value, the project manager should facilitate collaborative work among the team members.

AUse a market-based strategy.

A market-based strategy provides input for prioritization, but it is not the specific activity the team performs for relative-weighting assessment of features.

BRely on the expert judgment of the product owner.

Relying solely on the product owner's expert judgment centralizes decision-making and undermines the collaborative spirit and diverse input inherent in relative-weighting techniques.

CPerform collaborative work that is coordinated by the project manager.Correct

Relative-weighting approaches, common in agile feature prioritization, depend on the collective insights and varied perspectives of the entire team (e.g., product owner, developers, testers, stakeholders). The project manager's role is to coordinate this collaborative effort, ensuring comprehensive assessment and value-driven prioritization.

DEngage the project sponsor.

While the project sponsor provides high-level guidance, detailed feature assessment and prioritization using relative-weighting is typically a team-level collaborative effort facilitated by the project manager.

C is correct. Relative weighting is a collaborative prioritization technique, so the PM should coordinate the team through that joint effort rather than deferring to a single owner or sponsor.

Agreed on C, and worth adding that relative weighting is especially useful when stakeholders have competing priorities because the numbers force those tradeoff conversations to happen out in the open rather than quietly in side channels.

Going with C. Is relative weighting always a team-driven exercise in Agile PMI-land?

C is right. Does anyone spin up a quick sprint simulation to see relative weighting in action?

I first leaned toward B since the product owner's expert judgment seems like a natural fit for prioritizing features. What clicked for me is that relative-weighting is inherently a collaborative exercise, so the project manager should be coordinating that group effort rather than deferring to a single person's opinion.
