Why each option
vSphere HA requires redundant management network paths and warns when only one physical NIC backs the management vmkernel port. Fixing this requires both a physical standby adapter and removing any port group override that limits failover to a single NIC.
Moving vmnic1 to Standby adapters on the management network provides a physical failover path so that if the active NIC fails, the management vmkernel traffic can continue over the standby, satisfying HA's redundancy requirement.
Adding an additional vmknic creates a second software VMkernel interface but does not provide physical NIC redundancy if only one physical uplink backs the vSwitch, leaving the single point of failure in place.
Setting das.ignoreRedundantNetWarning to true suppresses the HA alarm without correcting the underlying absence of physical NIC redundancy, which is not an acceptable resolution for production HA deployments.
