2V0-620 · Question #129
Which two parameters are required when adding an iSCSI target to an iSCSI Software Adapter using Dynamic Discovery? (Choose two.)
The correct answer is A. The iSCSI device's IP Address or Fully Qualified Domain Name B. The Port Number. Dynamic Discovery uses a SendTargets query to automatically find iSCSI targets; only the network address and port are needed to initiate the exchange - the IQN is returned automatically.

Why each option
Dynamic Discovery uses a SendTargets query to automatically find iSCSI targets; only the network address and port are needed to initiate the exchange - the IQN is returned automatically.
The IP address or FQDN identifies the iSCSI target portal on the network; without it the Software Adapter has no endpoint to contact when issuing the SendTargets request.
The TCP port number (default 3260) is required to establish the connection to the target portal; the adapter cannot complete the SendTargets handshake without specifying this port.
The IQN is a parameter for Static Discovery, where targets are added manually; in Dynamic Discovery the IQN is returned by the target in the SendTargets response and does not need to be pre-configured.
The Default Gateway is a host-level network infrastructure setting and is not an input field in the iSCSI Software Adapter Dynamic Discovery configuration dialog.
