Why each option
The Direct Console User Interface (DCUI) is the local host console interface used to view and configure basic ESXi network settings - including the management IP address - without requiring any prior network access.
RVC (Ruby vSphere Console) is a command-line management tool that requires knowing the ESXi host or vCenter IP address as a connection parameter, so it cannot be used when that address is unknown.
The DCUI is accessible directly on the ESXi host's physical or virtual console and requires no network connectivity, making it the only available option to view or configure the IP address when it is unknown. It provides a 'Configure Management Network' menu that displays and allows modification of the host's IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
The vSphere Web Client requires network access to a vCenter Server or directly to the ESXi host, making it unusable when the host's IP address has not yet been determined.
The vSphere Client (C# thick client) also requires network connectivity and prior knowledge of the host or vCenter IP address, so it cannot be used to discover an unknown address.
