vDisk Update Management refers to the overall process which uses vDisk versions; simply enabling the broad process does not specifically describe the mechanism for rollbacks, which is provided by the versions themselves.

Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) vDisk Versions allow administrators to create multiple versions of a single master vDisk image, enabling seamless updates and, critically, easy rollbacks. If a new version introduces issues, administrators can simply revert target devices to a previous, stable vDisk version with minimal downtime.

While snapshots provide point-in-time recovery, vDisk versions are specifically designed for managing sequential updates and targeted rollbacks of master images across many target devices in a VDI environment, offering more streamlined control.

The Windows Automatic Install Kit (WAIK) is used for customizing and deploying Windows operating systems, but it does not provide the direct image versioning and rollback capabilities offered by PVS vDisk versions for ongoing release management.
