VCP550 · Question #97
An administrator is preparing to install an additional Single Sign-On node on a stand-alone server. What information is required during the installation routine?
The correct answer is C. Partner Host Name. When adding a new SSO node to an existing deployment, the installation routine requires the Partner Host Name to join the node to the existing SSO topology.

Why each option
When adding a new SSO node to an existing deployment, the installation routine requires the Partner Host Name to join the node to the existing SSO topology.
Active Directory credentials are used to configure AD as an identity source after SSO is installed, not as a requirement for joining a new SSO node to an existing SSO deployment.
A System DSN is a database connectivity reference used by some middleware components and is not an input collected during SSO node installation.
The Partner Host Name identifies an existing SSO node in the deployment so the new node can locate and join the established SSO domain or site. Without this value, the installer cannot form a trust relationship with the existing SSO infrastructure, making it a mandatory input during the join-domain phase of installation.
The Lookup Service URL is registered by other vSphere services to locate SSO after installation is complete, not supplied as an input during the SSO node installation routine itself.
