Information management addresses how BA artifacts, models, and data are stored and communicated, not the rigor or formality of change assessment activities.

In BABOK v3, the stakeholder engagement approach captures characteristics such as stakeholder count, attitude toward change, level of influence, and complexity of relationships. For a bank's billing replacement project, the diversity and regulatory significance of stakeholders - including compliance teams, auditors, and customers - requires the BA to use this approach to calibrate whether a formal or informal impact assessment process is warranted for the scope change.
