Why would you need to change the data source for your query?

The universe connection itself is managed at the universe design level in the Universe Design Tool or Information Design Tool, not by changing the query data source within a report.

In Web Intelligence, a query is built on top of a specific universe connection. Changing the data source reassigns the query to a different universe, which is a common requirement when promoting reports from a test environment to production, ensuring live data is used without rebuilding the query from scratch.

Using different objects from the same universe is done by adding or removing objects in the Query Panel, not by changing the data source.

The order of execution for existing queries is controlled through query properties or the query order settings, not by changing the data source.
