What is a role of NSO?

NSO is a network orchestrator, not a built-in wireless LAN controller; it can manage WLCs but does not contain one itself.

While NSO can manage WAN infrastructure, it does so through device configuration and service orchestration, not specifically by managing a virtual switch.

Cisco NSO (Network Services Orchestrator) is designed to provide full lifecycle management of network devices and services, from initial provisioning and configuration to ongoing operation, monitoring, and decommissioning, across diverse network infrastructures and vendors.

NSO is typically deployed as a Linux-based application, often on a hypervisor, but its operating system is not restricted to Windows and its role is not defined by its deployment OS.
