Why each option
When Forward Hunt No Answer is set to Personal Preference in CUCM, the system uses the individual DN's Call Forward No Coverage destination after all hunt options are exhausted.
The Service Parameters default destination is a fallback used when no per-DN coverage setting exists, not the destination applied when Personal Preference is explicitly selected.
There is no distinct 'Personal Settings configuration' section in CUCM DN configuration - the operative field is specifically Call Forward No Coverage, not a general personal settings page.
The 'Personal Preference' option for Forward Hunt No Answer instructs CUCM to defer to the individual directory number's own coverage configuration rather than a hunt-pilot-level or system-level destination. Specifically, CUCM forwards the call to the destination configured in the Call Forward No Coverage field on that DN, which governs calls that have gone unanswered through all available coverage paths.
Voice mail is only reached if the Call Forward No Coverage destination on the DN is explicitly pointed to the voice mail pilot number - it is not automatically selected simply because Personal Preference is chosen.
CUCM will always forward the call to the configured destination when Forward Hunt No Answer is set - calls do not continue ringing indefinitely once all hunt list options are exhausted.
