ctxpvd.exe is the Personal vDisk agent process that runs on the virtual machine itself and is not an administrative configuration or management tool.

PowerShell provides Broker cmdlets such as Set-BrokerMachine that allow administrators to configure Personal vDisk retention policies including how PvD data is handled when a machine is returned to the pool. This level of control is not surfaced in the Citrix Studio graphical interface, making PowerShell the required tool for this configuration. Administrators can script and automate PvD retention behavior through these cmdlets.

Citrix Studio provides general delivery group and machine catalog management but does not expose Personal vDisk retention configuration settings in its GUI.
