5The correct answers are B and C, Fault Tolerance and High Availability. HA restarts the VM automatically on another host if the ESXi host it runs on fails, which cuts your unplanned downtime down to just the time it takes for the VM to reboot on the new host. FT goes further by keeping a live shadow copy of the VM running in lockstep on a second host, so if the primary host dies the secondary takes over instantly with zero downtime and no data loss, which is exactly what you need for a bottling line you cannot afford to stop even for a few minutes. The key detail in this question is that the application does not support clustering at the app level, so you need vSphere to handle the protection entirely at the infrastructure layer, which is precisely what HA and FT are designed for. VShield Endpoint is a security feature and Cross-vCenter vMotion is for live migration between vCenter instances, so neither of those addresses host failure protection.
FT is right for zero RPO/RTO but worth flagging the vCPU constraint, since FT in vSphere 6.x and earlier caps you at 4 vCPUs per protected VM, and a bottling-line workload that needs more than that forces you back to HA plus a stretched cluster or a third-party solution.
I almost went with D, but FT and HA are exactly what protect VMs when a host dies.
FT and HA do different jobs there, worth keeping straight: HA restarts the VM on another host after a failure, while FT keeps a shadow VM running in lockstep so there is no downtime at all.
Correct, FT gives zero-downtime failover, HA restarts the VM automatically.
