The Data Replication Service (DRS) master instance supports a master-slave high-availability architecture. If a natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances occur in the region where the master instance resides and both the master and slave nodes become unreachable, the remote disaster recovery instance can be switched to the master instance. By modifying the database link address on the application side, application access can be quickly restored. The real-time disaster recovery feature provided by the Data Replication Service enables real-time synchronization between the master instance and the cross-regional disaster recovery instances.
