A customer is planning a host data migration from one DMX3 and four DMX4 storage arrays to a new VMAX 40K. Tier advisor and Symmerge have been used to calculate the correct drive count and configuration for the storage tiers to be used in the VMAX 40K. Several of the hosts that will be migrated are Windows 2003 clusters supporting MSSQL. The clusters utilize SRDF for cascaded replication and recovery. During the discovery phase of the engagement, default file system offsets are discovered. The customer has requested that allocation on the target VMAX 40K be kept to a minimum.
