That is the mode in Avaya Aura System Manager that unlocks the full administrative surface, meaning you can create, read, update, and delete elements across the entire managed domain, including Communication Manager objects, Session Manager routing, and user profiles. The other options either restrict what you can see or limit what you can touch. Simplified View, for example, trims the interface down to a subset of common tasks and hides the deeper dial-plan objects you need when you are building ARS tables or adding trunk groups. Installation Mode is scoped to the initial bring-up workflow and is not the right tool once the system is live and you are in day-to-day admin work. Burn D into your head and move on.
Sunita R.May 4, 2026That is solid for Aura, but the original post looked like it was asking about IP Office, which runs IP Office Manager and does not have a System Manager with those same mode names at all.
Sunita R.Apr 25, 2026Configuration Mode is correct. That is the full-access mode in IP Office Manager where you can create and edit everything from hunt groups and users to short codes and system settings, as opposed to Simplified View which hides a lot of the advanced options.
Grace U.May 11, 2026I actually stared at this one for a second on my exam because "Installation Mode" sounds like it would give you the most control, but then I remembered that you configure a system after it is installed, and Configuration Mode clicked right into place as D.
