Port-Channel aggregates multiple physical links in active/active mode for bandwidth and redundancy, not in the active/backup protection model that APS/MSP uses.

MLPPP bundles multiple PPP links to increase aggregate bandwidth and does not implement an active/backup failover model resembling SONET APS/MSP.

Flex Links is a Cisco Layer 2 feature that designates one port as active and a second port as standby, automatically switching to the backup when the active link fails - directly replicating the active/backup protection model of SONET APS and MSP. Failover occurs without requiring Spanning Tree Protocol reconvergence, providing fast switchover times comparable to SONET protection switching. This makes it the most appropriate Layer 2 analog to APS/MSP for Ethernet services.

Ethernet Pseudowires transport Layer 2 frames across an MPLS or IP core and do not inherently define active/backup link-layer protection switching characteristics.
