What is the function of the OMP TLOCs in a Cisco SD-WAN network?

OMP TLOCs represent the transport endpoints of WAN Edge routers, not services in a data center.

In Cisco SD-WAN, TLOCs (Transport Locators) are the logical interface of a WAN Edge router that connects to the transport network. OMP (Overlay Management Protocol) advertises these TLOCs, which include the system IP, color, and encapsulation, acting as identifiers that map an OMP route to a specific physical WAN Edge device and its corresponding WAN interface/transport segment.

OMP carries OMP service route information, but the TLOCs themselves are not carrying that information; rather, TLOCs are referenced by OMP routes to indicate the next hop.

QoS tags are used to prioritize traffic based on class of service, which is a data plane function, whereas TLOCs are control plane identifiers for routing and reachability.
