Question

Which three are true about the collection of chargeback metrics and the generation of chargeback reports by Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c?

Options

  • AThe sysman user must run a job to collect the metrics.
  • BA user with the EM_CLOUD_ADMINISTRATOR role must run a job to collect the metrics.
  • CA user with the EM_SSA_ADMINISTRATOR role must run a job to collect the metrics.
  • DMetrics are collected automatically.
  • EChargeback reports may be requested manually by the sysman user.
  • FChargeback reports run on a daily basis automatically.

Explanation

Collect metrics: This automatically occurs without any administrator intervention. Generate charge reports: An Enterprise Manager job generates reports daily, but you can also generate them on-demand. Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c super administrators (such as SYSMAN) can force chargeback ETL to occur on demand from the Actions menu of the Chargeback Targets tab.

D, E, F is the right answer here. The metrics collection in EM Cloud Control 12c is automated, you do not need sysman or any admin role account to manually kick off a job for that, so A, B, and C are all traps designed to make you think it works like a scheduled user-submitted task. Once the metrics are collected, chargeback reports run on a daily automatic schedule (F), but sysman can also go in and request a report on demand (E), so both of those are true at the same time and they are not mutually exclusive. A lot of people in my study group got tripped up between B and C because they confused EM_CLOUD_ADMINISTRATOR with EM_SSA_ADMINISTRATOR, but neither one applies here since no manual job submission is needed at all.

The trap here is A, B, and C, which all try to anchor you to a specific role or user kicking off metric collection manually. Oracle's documentation for EM Cloud Control 12c is clear that the chargeback framework collects metrics automatically via the internal scheduler, so no one needs to fire a manual job, which eliminates A, B, and C together. D, E, and F are your three correct picks because automatic collection (D) feeds a daily automated report cycle (F), and on top of that the sysman user retains the ability to trigger a report on demand (E) without waiting for the next scheduled run. The wording on E is slightly loose since other privileged users can also pull reports through the UI, but the exam is asking what is true and sysman doing it manually is certainly true, so do not let that ambiguity talk you out of E. Memory hook: the chargeback engine runs itself daily, sysman can interrupt anytime. This maps to the Oracle exam topic "Manage Metering and Chargeback" under the Cloud Administration section of the 1Z0-028 blueprint.

The daily automated collection cycle is the key anchor that locks in D and F, but worth flagging that on some EM 12c patch levels the scheduler interval is configurable below 24 hours, so if your study materials show a frequency option in a question stem, do not assume daily is the only valid answer.

I actually second-guessed myself on this one because I kept thinking some admin role had to kick off the collection job manually, so I wasted a good five minutes going back and forth before I remembered spinning up a lab and watching EM Cloud Control pull those metrics on its own without me touching anything. Once I recalled that the collection is automatic, the chargeback reports running daily and the sysman user being able to pull one on demand both clicked, and D, E, F locked in clean.
