B and C are your two correct answers here. A Distributed Virtual Switch is the core switching fabric that handles network traffic between VMs and the physical network, and a Virtual Network Interface is what each VM uses to actually connect to that network, so these two together form the foundational components of a vSphere virtual network.

Worth noting that if the exam presents a standard vSwitch instead of a distributed one, that answer is just as valid for "foundational switching," so do not let the word "distributed" anchor you into thinking only a DVS counts.

The "mam" in the question is a typo for "main," just so no one spirals on that. Anyway, B and C are the right picks here because a Distributed Virtual Switch handles the switching fabric side of the virtual network and a Virtual Network Interface is literally how the VM connects to that network, while A and D are NSX constructs that sit on top of vSphere networking rather than being core components of vSphere virtual networking itself.

Saw this exact wording on mine, picked B and C without blinking. vSwitch plus vNIC, that is the virtual network foundation, the other two are NSX territory so eliminate fast and move on.

That is solid instinct, though I would add that knowing *why* NSX components get eliminated saves you on the scenario variants where they sneak a load balancer or firewall question in NSX clothing.
