Right, and the word "allocated" is doing a lot of work there, because a test distractor will sometimes swap in "actively utilized cores" to bait you into overthinking it, so anchoring on "allocated to the gateway" is the exact phrasing the guide uses and the phrasing you need to hold onto under test conditions.

Going with B on this one and I feel pretty solid about it. The whole Elastic licensing model is built around the idea that you are deploying software on servers that run your applications, so the logical unit of measurement is the application server itself, not the gateway or the management layer. Management Servers are overhead, Security Gateways are enforcement points, and virtual cores get too granular for a licensing model that needs to stay predictable across different hardware configurations. The whole point of Elastic licensing is that it flexes to your deployment size, and what defines your deployment size in a Check Point environment is how many Security Gateways you are running, not cores or servers that just sit behind the scenes. Every gateway you spin up is a new enforcement point, so that is the logical unit Check Point would count.

Viktor, good thinking on the gateway logic, but Check Point Elastic licensing actually counts by the number of cores across your Security Gateways, not the gateways themselves, which is why D is the answer. The idea is that processing capacity, not enforcement point count, is what scales the license.
