In SmartConsole, the Attention status is basically a yellow flag that tells you the gateway itself is still up and passing traffic, but something under the hood with one of its Software Blades is not quite right, like a license warning or a blade that needs attention but has not fully failed. It is different from the Problem status, which is more serious and usually means something is broken enough to affect traffic. A and D are describing connectivity and SIC issues, which would show up as a completely unreachable or disconnected state, not just Attention. So when you see Attention on an exam question, think "gateway alive, blade has a minor hiccup" and you will nail it every time.
Anastasia B.Feb 9, 2026C is right, Attention means the gateway itself is up and passing traffic but at least one blade is flagging something worth looking at, which is why it sits between OK and Error in the status hierarchy. Do you know off the top of your head whether a blade stuck in "Initializing" after a policy install counts as the trigger for Attention, or does that push the gateway all the way to Error?
Mei-Ling H.Feb 10, 2026From what I remember studying this, a blade stuck in Initializing after policy push does land the gateway at Attention, not Error, because the blade has not actually failed yet, it is just not ready, and the exam tends to draw that line between "degraded but functional" for Attention versus "functional feature actively broken" for Error.
