Identity Awareness is a blade that must be activated individually on each gateway where it is needed. Navigating to the Gateway Object and selecting the 'General Properties' page exposes the Software Blades section, where the Identity Awareness blade checkbox can be enabled. This per-gateway activation ensures only designated gateways perform identity-based enforcement and data collection.
The Security Management Server object does not contain a blade-activation section for Identity Awareness - blades are licensed and enabled on gateway objects, not the management server object.
Policy > Global Properties contains global settings such as logging and authentication timeouts, but blade activation is not performed there.
