Brocade Network Advisor triggers a configuration backup when a user manually initiates a save and when a device is first discovered, both of which are documented backup trigger events in the BNA management guide; options C and D describe config copy operations that occur outside of BNA and therefore do not trigger a BNA-managed backup.

Yusuf A.Dec 12, 2025Hey Bartosz, actually I think it is A and B on this one, not C. Discovery does kick off a config pull, but that is covered under A, and C describes a separate manual process that does not happen automatically during discovery.
Yusuf A.Dec 21, 2025Took this one on my actual exam last month and I almost talked myself into C because copying the startup-config to a USB felt like something BNA would care about, but my senior had drilled into me that BNA only triggers its own backup process when it is the one doing the work. Device discovery makes sense once you think about it, BNA needs a baseline snapshot the moment it sees a new switch so it has something to compare against later. The manual save option is the obvious one but people overlook it because they assume BNA is always running scheduled jobs in the background. Went with A and B, skipped C and D because those are just the switch writing its own file locally with no handoff to the Network Advisor application at all.

Hiroshi T.Nov 29, 2025Sara, the vendor documentation is clear that BNA backup events are triggered by syslog notification of a configuration change and by SNMP traps, which is why A and B are correct. An FTP copy of the running-config moves the file but does not generate the event notification that BNA listens for, so D does not qualify.
