You need more bandwidth in your fabric and decide to implement trunking. Which two statements are true? (Choose two)

The correct answer is A. All of the ports in a trunk group must be configured for the same distance mode D. All the ports in a trunk group must have the same encryption and compression settings. See the full explanation below for the reasoning.

The correct answers are A and D. Trunking on these fabrics treats the trunk group as a single logical link, so every port in that group has to match on distance mode and on encryption and compression settings, otherwise the trunk simply will not form or will behave unpredictably under load. B trips up a lot of people because you absolutely do need a Trunking license on each switch in the trunk, not just one end. C is also wrong because all ports in a trunk group must belong to the same port group, that is a hardware constraint tied to how the ASICs handle the aggregation, not something you can mix across groups.

B trips everyone but A and D are locked, same distance and same encryption/compression, full stop.

C trips people up because it sounds plausible if you have never actually built a trunk on Brocade gear, but the ports in a trunk group must all come from the same port group on the ASIC, and that eliminates C immediately. A and D are the keepers, same distance mode and matching encryption or compression settings are hard requirements the switch enforces, you will never form the trunk otherwise.

Right, A and D, because mismatched settings break trunk negotiation instantly.
