Connecting DAS storage is only one component of the hardware setup and does not describe the full network configuration requirement for LS appliances in a multiple appliance site.

The deployment process does not require configuring each appliance in isolation before connecting them through the switch; network connectivity through specified ports is part of the integrated setup procedure.

The correct hardware setup requires each LS appliance to connect to the LAN through Ethernet connector Gb1 and to the inter-appliance gigabit switch, which establishes the required network paths for data collection and forwarding. This specific port assignment is defined in the RSA enVision deployment architecture to ensure consistent and predictable network behavior. Using the wrong connector or skipping the switch connection would break inter-appliance communication.
